The diplomatic relations between the Republic of Türkiye and the People’s Republic of Bangladesh was established on 22 February 1974. The Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye in Dhaka was opened by Mr. Faruk Loğoğlu, Charge d’Affaires a.i. in 1976.

The purview of the Embassy is entire Bangladesh. An Honorary Consulate General was also established in Chittagong, in 1986.

Consular Section of the Embassy serves the Turkish citizens for their applications regarding passport, citizenship, notary and etc. The visa applications of Bangladesh citizens and third country nationals are also treated by the Consular Section.
